However, the number and variety of these products have multiplied so much lately that it is difficult to understand what a healthy bar really is.

In short, what makes a bar truly worthy of ending up in your shopping cart? We analyzed several and made a selection based on the amount of protein, added sugar, fiber, and even sodium. A selection of the 13 best protein bars has emerged.

Recently introduced on the market, this completely vegetable and organic bar is really not to be missed. Quality ingredients and no sugar – or stevia – added, it's a vegan, low-carb option featuring peanuts and sunflower seeds.

Don't be fooled by the granola on the package! This crunchy snack from KIND actually contains 12 grams of plant protein and has only 6 grams of added sugar. we like this hazelnut and chocolate bar for its taste and texture.

Veggie bars can be hard to find, and organic ones are even harder to come by. We love the chewy texture of this bar from Orgain, a chocolate chip cookie dough flavored protein bar that boasts 10 grams of plant-based protein and is both vegan and soy-free.

With flavors like birthday cake and pumpkin pie, this bar will not only satisfy your sweet tooth, but will also be the perfect post-workout protein boost. These bars are super tasty and have 20 grams of protein, which is way more than most bars out there. Now they are also available in miniature for a controlled portion.

RXBAR's latest innovation is chewy, sticky, and nutrient-dense. With 14+ grams of protein, it boasts a list of wholesome ingredients and is sweetened with dates and honey. It has that candy bar taste and texture, but only 4 grams of added sugar.

The first ingredient in this bar is grass-fed whey protein concentrate. It contains fiber (7 grams to be exact) and only 4 grams of added sugar. Plus, it has great flavor and heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

Of course we also love the traditional RXBAR protein bar. Made with natural ingredients, these bars provide up to 12 grams of protein and are also gluten-free. They also contain no added sugar and are sweetened with dates.

This plant-based, low-sugar bar is the highest-rated on Amazon and comes in a variety of flavors. It's a gluten-free, plant-based, low-sugar, smooth and tasty option. We love that the protein blend comes from fava beans and brown rice, and that it's has a whopping 11 grams of fiber.
