Well, it is also said that the ginger and turmeric infusion is an excellent remedy for weight loss and we want to find out with you if this statement is true or just a rumor.
And finally, we will prepare together a steaming herbal tea with these two precious ingredients.
What are ginger and turmeric
Ginger and turmeric are two spices used both to flavor foods and to prepare healthy drinks and fruit extracts with rich nutrients.
Used separately, they bring great benefits to our body and its functions, but together they release a series of positive effects that are worth knowing before preparing a hot infusion of ginger and turmeric.

Who has never tasted this herbal tea on warm winter days? It pampers us with its warmth and taste, and in moments of malaise linked to seasonal ailments it is a panacea to feel better immediately and regain some energy.
Both spices originate from oriental culture, but like many other elements of foreign tradition, they have now entered our homes and our habits. As Eastern philosophy teaches us, to improve the quality of life you need to start from small daily actions and to take care of yourself you can also drink an infusion of ginger and turmeric.
What is the infusion of ginger and turmeric for?
What properties does ginger and turmeric infusion have? And it is here that we need to understand what the union of these two spices and their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, pain-relieving and anticancer properties entails.
Together they are an explosive mixture that brings enormous benefits to man. Here are the most important:
- They facilitate digestion
- They strengthen the immune system and protect against seasonal diseases
- They promote metabolism
- They act on the central nervous system by fighting anxiety and depression
- They eliminate abdominal swelling
- They relieve pain and fight inflammation
In practice, these are two absolutely natural substances that work together to make you feel better, carrying out an antibacterial and antiviral action and facilitating intestinal functions: and they do all this with gusto! Because drinking an infusion of ginger and turmeric is not a sacrifice but a pleasure, given its particular and intense flavour.
Does ginger and turmeric infusion help you lose weight?
But there's more: the turmeric and ginger infusion is said to also help you lose weight. Will it be true? We confess that we too were initially skeptical of this statement, but to our surprise we discovered that it is all true and there is scientific evidence to prove this further property.
On the one hand they perform this function by helping the intestinal tract to work well and on the other by helping to fuel a not indifferent sense of satiety. And then together they are a 100% natural fat burner!
Naturally it must be remembered that without a balanced diet and constant physical activity they cannot achieve great results, but if they are placed in a context where the person takes care of his body at 360 degrees then their action is truly incredible.
To understand how they act with a slimming effect, it is necessary to deepen the properties of each spice.
Ginger properties for weight loss
Let's start with ginger. It's not good just to heal from cold but it also helps to lose weight. As? Here are the reasons:
- It immediately makes you feel fuller as it increases the levels of serotonin, the hormone that controls hunger;
- Accelerates the metabolism, thanks to some of its internal components such as gingerol;
- Burns fat, increasing body temperature;
- It reduces water retention and swelling because it eliminates toxins with its antioxidant action.
The effects of ginger do not diminish depending on its use, so it is obtained in both food and drink.
Turmeric properties for weight loss

Turmeric also plays its part in the slimming action. Here's where its power comes from:
- Regulates blood glucose levels and hinders the accumulation of fat;
- Eliminates harmful substances thanks to the polyphenols inside which also perform an antioxidant action;
- Contrasts localized swelling in the abdomen, acting as an anti-inflammatory;
- Melts fat in the stomach by producing more bile;
- Contains curcumin, which decreases bad cholesterol levels and helps prevent fat formation.
So turmeric is another very powerful fat burner that accelerates the functions of the metabolism in a completely natural and fast way.
How to make a perfect ginger and turmeric herbal tea
And now that we know what it's like to drink an infusion with both ingredients, let's try together to prepare a perfect turmeric and ginger infusion. Here's what you need to get started:
- Waterfall
- sweetener (optional)
- ginger root
- turmeric powder
- lemon juice
To make any infusion it is customary to heat the water in a saucepan: this preparation is also a mandatory step and the water must be very hot before continuing.
In the case of our infusion, however, there is a preliminary step that precedes the boiling. In fact, the turmeric powder and grated ginger must be poured into the water.
When the water reaches the desired temperature (after about ten minutes) it can be poured into the cup and the lemon juice and possibly honey or sugar can be added.
The herbal tea is ready: it must be drunk while still hot to fully feel all the benefits!
There are also variations that do not compromise the result: for example, you can avoid boiling the water but only heat it, or add the spices only after the water has been heated and leave everything to infuse for about 10 minutes.
When to drink the infusion and in what quantity
The ginger and turmeric infusion does not harm your health at all, on the contrary, as already mentioned, it helps to restore a psychophysical balance in the body.
It is advisable to drink it on an empty stomach and during snacks between meals: in this way its action on the metabolism will be even more effective. But nothing prevents you from bringing a cup in a thermal container to drink at the end of training or in the evening before going to sleep, especially in case of illness or flu.
The doses of ginger and turmeric during the preparation of the infusion should not be exaggerated: just 2 grams are enough for the turmeric and about 10 grams for the ginger.
Finally, do not prepare more than one, maximum two a day. However, the effects are clearly visible.
